Grayson County United Way campaign gets underway

The smell of burgers and the music of the band filled the Grayson County Courthouse Square at the United Way of Grayson County campaign kickoff Saturday.

United Way of Grayson County President David Cortinas said with this year's kickoff they hoped to involve everyone in the community.

"(No matter where you're from) we want you to know you're valued," he said. "We need your help."

Normally the kickoff is a more formal weekday breakfast, but this year's less ceremonial kickoff included free food for the community, live music, a skit and other entertainment. (read more)
